“På en relativt sjeldent, steinete strand er det en stor stein som stikker ut over havet. Etter en klatring, en stigning fra det ene taggete fotfeste til det andre, nås en naturlig hylle hvor en person kan strekke seg i lengden og stirre ned i tidevannet som stiger og faller under, eller utover til bukten, hvor seil fanger lys og deretter skygger , deretter lys, mens de stikker langt ut nær horisonten. Solen har brent disse steinene, og den store kontinuerlige ebben og strømmen av tidevannet har smuldret steinblokkene, slått dem, slitt dem ned til de glatte solskallede steinene på stranden som rasler og forskyver seg under føttene mens man går over dem. En rolig følelse av den langsomme uunngåeligheten av de gradvise endringene i jordskorpen kommer over meg; en fortærende kjærlighet, ikke av en gud, men av den rene, ubrutte følelsen av at steinene, som er navnløse, bølgene som er navnløse, det ujevne gresset, som er navnløse, alle er definert øyeblikkelig gjennom bevisstheten til det vesen som observerer dem . Med solen brennende til stein og kjøtt, og vinden rufsende gress og hår, er det en bevissthet om at de blinde, ubevisste, upersonlige og nøytrale kreftene vil bestå, og at den skjøre, mirakuløst strikkede organismen som tolker dem, gir dem mening, vil bevege seg litt, så vakle, mislykkes og brytes til slutt ned i den anonome [sic] jorda, stemmeløs, ansiktsløs, uten identitet.
Fra denne opplevelsen kom jeg hel og ren ut, bitt til benet av solen, vasket rent av iskaldt saltvann, tørket og bleket til den glatte roen som kommer fra å bo blant de primære tingene.
Også fra denne erfaringen oppstår en tro for å bære tilbake til en menneskelig verden av små lyster og svikefulle smålighet. En tro, naiv og barn som kanskje, født som den er fra naturens uendelige enkelhet. Det er en følelse av at uansett hva andre har for ideer eller oppførsel, er det en unik rettighet og skjønnhet til livet som kan deles i åpenhet, i vind og sollys, med et medmenneske som tror på de samme grunnleggende prinsippene. ”

Tini Living
Cura Design are working with Tini living to assist the design and installation of pre-fabricated steel modular buildings in the UK. Its an obvious partnership, biophilic design principles expressed through a well crafted alternative construction system that brings us closer to a more sustainable, more human and more conscious future!
The units are a perfect solution for people wishing to build in sensitive coastal areas and conservation areas and AONBs as the units are craned into place and as such can built with planning permission or in some cases under 'the caravan act'.
This method of building offers great benefits including the precision of manufacturing, and reduced time and therefore cost during the construction process on-site. They also offer a great alternative for self-build projects where the higher material cost provides a valuable time saving on site, as you can build the ground floor of a modest house in 2 days, and have a 3 bedroomed 2 story house weathertight in 5 to 7 days. Cura Design also ensures that the constructions meet and exceed current building regulations in the UK and we can assist and coordinate work on site.
The Journal of Biophilic Design
Cura Design are contributers to The Journal of Biophilic Design. JBD is a publisher and broadcaster of research into the health and environmental benefits of Biophilic Nature-inspired Design. Cura Design are contributors to the Journal and on the advisory board for the first biophilic conference to be held in London this November.
The Journal aims to bridge the gap between research and practice of biophilic design and nature-based solutions through publishing and broadcasting international case studies, thought leadership and evidence to help mitigate and improve the Environmental, Health and Economic impact of design, build and construction. The journal has 30,000+ monthly podcast listeners, and their printed and ebook Journal is distributed worldwide and on university reading lists

Cura Design support The Half-Earth Project. HEP is a global initiative aimed at conserving biodiversity by protecting half of the Earth's land and seas. It was inspired by the work of biologist E.O. Wilson, who argues that this level of protection is essential to safeguard the majority of Earth's species and ecosystems. Biodiversity Preservation: Protect half of the planet to maintain biodiversity and ecosystem stability. The project utilizes advanced mapping technologies to identify areas rich in biodiversity that require protection.
